During my recent travel to my country of origin Guatemala located in Cental America, I visited many different touristic areas. I was so happy to bring my family to get to know my roots and where I grew up. I have not returned since 2009.
We stayed in Antigua, which is a small city surrounded by volcanoes in southern Guatemala. Then from there each day we planned to visit the beach, the hot-spring waters, the national capital, the Lake Atitlan and the busy touristic city of Panajachel.
We went to a few areas where native artisans create all different types of beautiful & amazing things. We leaned about the Cakchichel culture and traditions.
During one of the outings, I’ve fell I love with these multicolored beaded necklaces and earrings that I decided to bring a few to share with you and help the artisans who created them. The economy has hit hard in all 3rd world countries and I am happy to be able to do this.
