Today wasn’t extraordinary in the way the world defines extraordinary.
There were no big announcements, no dramatic breakthroughs, no loud signs demanding attention.
And yet—Spirit walked with me all day.
I woke up without urgency.
I allowed the day to unfold instead of forcing it into shape.
And in that softness, guidance spoke everywhere.
A Slower Morning, A Kinder Pace
Mila didn’t feel ready for school this morning. Her body asked for more rest, and instead of rushing or resisting, I listened. I took her a little later, held the structure while honoring her humanity. I picked her up early. No guilt. No explanation needed.
This is something Spirit has been teaching me lately:
Structure doesn’t have to be harsh to be effective.
Love can guide without pressure.
Integrity in the Ordinary
I dropped off items I had forgotten to give to my boss. I didn’t have to—but I wanted to. Integrity has become something sacred to me. Not perfection, but honesty and follow-through.
When I showed up, she was happy. And I was reminded that doing things with care—without resentment, without fear—creates ease everywhere it lands.
Unexpected Community
Later, I stopped for breakfast at a small French pastry spot near my home. What I thought would be a quiet moment turned into something else entirely. I met a small group of women—artists—each finding their way here in Charlotte. Some have been walking this path for years, others longer. There was no networking energy. No performance. Just real conversation. Real sharing. Real welcome. Spirit doesn’t always guide us with signs in the sky. Sometimes it seats us at the right table.
The Language of Nature
On my walk with Duke, Spirit spoke again.

A squirrel appeared right outside my apartment earlier that day—unbothered, steady, prepared. A reminder of provision. Of trust. Of storing without fear.

Then the trees. Most of them bare now, resting.
And then one—full, green, strong. A Southern magnolia. Evergreen. Ancient. Steady.
It stood like a message:
You don’t have to disappear just because the season changes.
And finally, the sky.
The sunset washed the evening in pinks, golds, and soft fire. In the center of the sky, a shape formed—subtle, fleeting, unmistakable to my heart.

A phoenix rising.
Not from flames, but from light.
Not in chaos, but in calm.
I wasn’t burning anymore.
I was ascending.
The Way Spirit Speaks to Me
Spirit doesn’t shout at me.
It doesn’t rush me.
It doesn’t demand belief.
It guides me through:
- timing that feels kind
- people who arrive gently
- money that flows honestly
- errands that feel like prayer
- a road that curves instead of collides
Today I went everywhere—school, bank, Goodwill, errands, picking up kids—and I never rushed.
That’s the miracle.
What I’m Learning
I’m learning that guidance doesn’t always come as instruction.
Sometimes it comes as peace.
Sometimes it comes as:
- “You did enough today.”
- “You are held.”
- “This life fits you now.”
And sometimes, it comes as a phoenix in the sky—
only visible when you’re finally still enough to see it.
Today was a beautiful day.
Not because everything was perfect,
but because I was present.
And Spirit was with me the whole way.
