Featured Artist of the Month – Jenn Sher The Divine Muse

I am my own Muse!

This month feels especially meaningful to me—June is my birthday month, and it marks a powerful new chapter in my life. After relocating from California to Charlotte, North Carolina with my daughter and my beloved dog Duke, I’ve been embracing a season of deep transformation, healing, and rebirth.

I’ve been quieter lately, listening more, reflecting more, and creating from a space of truth and soul. In this moment of reflection, I felt called to share more of my story—both to honor where I’ve been and to recommit to why I create. Art has always been my safe space, my healing language, and my way of connecting with something greater.

A Bit About Me…

My name is Jennifer Sher, though many know me as Jenn Sher, and I am the artist behind Divine Muse Art. I was born in Guatemala and moved to California in my teens. I’m a proud mother of three daughters, and after years of living in Santa Clarita, I followed my heart and intuition to North Carolina for a fresh start.

I’m a mixed media artist, sculptor, and full-time accountant. Art has always been what nourishes my spirit when the world feels heavy. I first discovered Mixed Media in September 2015, and it completely changed the way I viewed creativity. Then, in April 2016, I was introduced to Paperclay—and everything shifted. Seeing my art come to life in three dimensions opened something magical within me.

There’s something sacred about sculpting a face, shaping a figure, and seeing spirit emerge through form. My handcrafted Paperclay dolls are each made with love and intention, designed to bring serenity and healing energy into the homes and hearts of those who connect with them.

A Purpose-Driven Practice

Launching my art business in 2019 was a leap of faith. Now evolving under the name Divine Muse Art by Jenn Sher, my work is not only about creating pieces, but about inspiring a creative, intentional, and spiritually connected life. I want to show others what’s possible when we trust the muse within.

I create from my home studio, using recycled materials whenever possible, honoring both the Earth and the power of rebirth. Each sculpture and painting I make carries an energy of resilience, hope, and transformation—just like the journey I’ve been on.

My guiding values remain at the core of my creative path, even when things get tough:

  • Believing in myself, even when doubt whispers louder
  • Creating every day, and inspiring others to do the same
  • Embracing new experiences and saying yes to growth
  • Making time for what I love
  • Surrounding myself with positive, soulful people

Inspiration & Intention

I draw creative strength from iconic artists like Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, and Picasso, but also from my beautiful, ever-expanding online community of artists and creatives. They remind me that art is a living, breathing exchange of energy—and that we’re never truly alone in our journeys.

Art is my soul’s expression. It’s the one thing I can hold up and say, “Yes—I made that with my own hands. That’s a piece of me.” And now, with my upcoming book in progress—a fusion of personal storytelling and visual art—I feel more committed than ever to living my truth out loud.

My dream is to continue healing through creativity, to teach others that no matter what life throws at us, we can always rise. We can create joy. We can rebuild. We can begin again.

Creative Living

I do my best to live a creative, healthy lifestyle—making each day meaningful, nourishing my relationships, and honoring the Divine Muse within me. I believe in being authentic, uplifting others, and choosing courage over comfort.

One of my favorite quotes still rings true every day:

“Creativity takes courage.” —Henri Matisse

Thank you for being here and for walking this journey with me. Your support, your love, and your presence matter more than you know.
